On September 12, 2026, the Nexus Board of Directors sent the message below to homeowners through BuildingLink, under the subject line "Management Company Transition Update." It arrived on Association letterhead and was signed "Nexus Board of Directors."
The text of that message is reproduced here in full. It is posted so that owners can read the Board's position in the Board's own words, rather than relying on the passages quoted elsewhere.
Dear Homeowners,
The Board appreciates that homeowners may have questions regarding the recent decision concerning our management contract, and we welcome constructive engagement from the community. We would, however, like to clarify an important point raised in the recent BuildingLink communication. The Board has been actively evaluating management options and conducting appropriate due diligence, including discussions in executive session. Because these discussions involve contractual matters, negotiations, potential vendors, and our existing management company, it would not have been appropriate to conduct every aspect of that process in an open meeting, particularly where doing so could create conflicts of interest or compromise the Association's negotiating position. The suggestion that the Board has not been thoughtfully vetting alternatives because those discussions have not occurred publicly does not accurately reflect the work that has been underway.
The Board intends to provide additional information regarding the management-company selection process at the next Board meeting. Homeowners will have an opportunity to hear an update, ask questions, and provide input consistent with the Association's established meeting process. We recognize that changing management companies is an important decision affecting the entire community, and the Board takes its fiduciary responsibilities seriously. Our objective is to conduct a careful and responsible evaluation that considers service, staffing, financial impact, transition planning, and the long-term interests of the Association while preserving the confidentiality necessary for effective negotiations.
Finally, we respectfully ask homeowners to raise concerns of this nature directly with the Board or during the appropriate homeowner-comment and Q&A portions of Board meetings rather than using BuildingLink to organize campaigns or characterize Board actions before the process is complete. BuildingLink is a community-wide platform used not only by homeowners but also by residents and tenants, and communications that speculate about motives, suggest impropriety, or encourage opposing factions can unnecessarily divide our community. Reasonable disagreement and questions are welcome. The Board remains committed to transparency at the appropriate stages of the process, respectful dialogue, and making decisions in the best interests of the Association as a whole.
Sincerely,
Nexus Board of Directors
